Jays Kryptonite? Who? THE RAYS!

After attending the Jays game against the rays at tropicana field a few days ago, i finally saw the phenominum they call the rays in person. The Rays clearly are possibly the worst team in baseball but why do these youngsters seem top beat up on top A.L. competition such as the Red Sox, jays and angels? I really don't know how but as I watched the Jays melt in the air condition dome i was intrigued. Please can anyone explain this.
